DJ-K Productions: A Brief History / Meet Your DJs
DJ-K, the company, was founded in 1990, but it's roots trace back much farther than that. Ken inherited his passion for music from his father and older brother, and by middle school, had amassed quite a collection of 45s. To mask his reluctance to ask girls to dance at school functions, he instead tried to figure out what his schoolmates wanted to dance to, and thus, a career was born!
What began as a weekend lark for friends quickly became a wonderfully rewarding business, loaded with excitement and clients eager to entrust to us the responsibility of keeping the dance floor moving.
Over the years, we've seen technology change, from records and tapes to CDs and mp3s. However, we've never lost touch with incredible privilege we're blessed with while providing music for our clients. We have been fortunate to be included in thousands of life cycle events, and will always take pride in giving our clients the kind of service the importance of their party demands.

Ken Maas - Owner/DJKen started DJ-K Productions back in 1990, but he’s been DJing since middle school. DJ-K was his full time job until 13 years ago, when he fulfilled a life-long dream and began teaching History, Literature and Religion to middle schoolers. He has always been a huge music fan, and was involved in plays and musicals in high school and college. He also performed in numerous musicals with Piedmont Light Opera Theater. He once appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson where he performed a bird call! He has two great kids, ages 34 and 25.

Daryl Grace - DJDaryl has come up the DJ-K ladder... he started 17 years ago as an assistant to the DJs, and gained the experience necessary to become one of the most in-demand DJs in the Bay Area. His ability to connect with kids and adults alike makes him a valuable member of the DJ-K team. In addition to DJing, Daryl presently teaches physical education at Oakland-Hebrew Day school. Daryl is married, and his five children keep him very busy!

Victor Harris - DJVIctor has, like Daryl, grown to be an excellent DJ by starting out as an assistant with DJ-K. His unflappable personality is appreciated by both kids and adults. A man of many talents, Victor is an accomplished poet and a fantastic cook. He has even started his own cheesecake business, called Reuschelle’s Cheesecakes.
