Frequently
Asked Questions
This page is
dedicated to answering some of the questions we are often asked by potential
clients...
-
"Do DJ-K
DJs carry insurance?"
All DJ-K DJs are
insured for liability.
-
"Does
The DJ Bring An Assistant?"
We consider Bar and
Bat Mitzvahs to be '2 Person' events; for these parties the DJ does bring an
assistant. For all other events, unless specifically requested, the DJ
does not bring an assistant.
-
"Can We
Come See You Work?"
We do not arrange for
potential clients to come watch us at events. We understand the value of
seeing the DJ you're interested in 'in action'. We have learned that
arranging for someone else to come see us at a party can be very
distracting. More importantly, we feel that our clients deserve our
un-divided attention at their event, and we don't want to be worrying about
a party we might book in the future when we should be concentrating on
performing our service to the best of our abilities.
-
"How Can
We Evaluate Your Work?"
There is a
Post-Party
Questionnaires Page that previous clients have contributed to. There are
also 16 Post Party Questionnaire included in the brochure we send to your home.
You are welcome to contact any previous client if they've placed contact
information on their letter. Also, more often than not, we are
referred by previous clients, or by people that have seen us work.
-
"Can We
Meet With Our DJ?"
We strongly suggest
meeting with your DJ at least once before your event, when possible.
We often are interviewed by potential clients in their homes before we're
hired, and we're happy to meet with our clients as the date of their event
approaches.
-
"Can We
Ask To Turn Down The Music If It's Too Loud?"
One of the benefits of
hiring a DJ-K DJ is our ability to listen to our clients, be it during the
planning phase of the party, or during the party itself. If you or
your guests find the music too loud, please let us know!
-
"What
Happens If I Miss My Retaining Fee Due-Date?"
Contracts and retaining fees are usually due 2 weeks after
being mailed to you. If we haven't received the contract and retaining
fee
by the due date, your party date is once again considered "open",
and you are no longer "penciled in". If you still want the
date "held", please call to let us know. Also, if you've
decided NOT to use DJ-K Productions, a call or email letting us know would
be greatly appreciated.
-
"When is
the best time for a client to reach you by phone?"
We of course have voice mail, but
because we keep crazy hours, the best way to communicate is via email. The easier way to answer that question is
by pointing out the worst times to try to get in touch with us:
Fridays and Saturdays! These are the days when we're DJing, and unless
there's some kind of emergency, we aren't really available to return calls
until the following Monday. We try to return all calls and emails
within 24 hours of receiving them.
-
"When
should I book my DJ?"
At the risk of giving
what will seem like an obvious answer, it's never too soon to book your
DJ. We often book parties well over a year in advance. Consider
the advantages to you if you do book early: You'll lock in the DJ you
want, and chances are, you'll book at a better rate than if you wait.
Booking early, if you know what and who you want, is always a good idea,
whether you're booking a DJ, Photographer, Videographer, or location.
